Readers Theatre for Choirs
During Reader's Theater, students get a chance to read and perform portions of a text with expression and gestures. These opportunities allow students to explore the true meaning of the text or lyrics by "acting out" the dialogue or lyrics of the song. Some examples include:
1. Whole Choir Narration with individual actors representing characters.
2. Individual voices representing various characters.
3. Choir doing movements to represent words while singing, with featured soloists.
4. Singing a song with sign language.
5. Reading program notes before singing a choral work.
6. Using student created scripts and handmade marionette puppets to present for Kindergarteners.
